Chrome extension available now, Edge and Firefox coming soon
Your bookmarks are a graveyard.
Clear it out, one at a time.
Nobody reorganises a thousand bookmarks in a folder tree. Bookmarks Pal turns the pile into a queue and shows you one link at a time: keep it, bin it, or file it properly. One keypress each. Stop whenever you like.

Why this exists
Bookmark managers assume you already know where everything goes
Every browser gives you a folder tree and a rename button. That is fine for filing one link. It is useless for the eight hundred you saved over a decade and never opened again. The work is not organising, it is deciding. A tree makes you hold the whole mess in your head at once, so you close the tab and the pile grows.
One at a time
You only ever look at a single bookmark. No tree, no scrolling, no deciding where to start.
Three choices
Keep, delete, or move. Whatever you do, the next one appears, so the queue never stalls.
Stop anywhere
Progress is saved as you go. Ten bookmarks on a coffee break is real progress, not a wasted session.
How it works
Three steps, and the last one is reversible
- 1
Bring your bookmarks in
Install the extension and Bookmarks Pal reads your live bookmark tree, or export a bookmarks HTML file from any browser and drop it in. Neither route needs an account.
- 2
Decide one at a time
Your bookmarks become a queue. Each one shows its title, address and the folder it is sitting in, and you keep it, delete it, or move it somewhere sensible, with K, D and M, or a swipe on a phone.
- 3
Apply when you are ready
Staged mode collects every change and shows you the list before anything happens. Live mode applies each decision to your browser as you go. At the end you get a summary, and in file mode a cleaned bookmarks file to re-import.
Getting your bookmarks in
Use the extension, or just upload a file
Both routes work without an account, and both handle nested folders.
The Chrome extension
RecommendedReads your live bookmark tree, so there is no export step and no stale copy. Deletes and moves can be applied straight to your browser as you make them, or queued up and applied at the end, whichever you prefer. Edge and Firefox versions are in progress; on any other browser, use the file route on the right.
- โNo export or re-import: it edits the real thing
- โSave new bookmarks from the toolbar with a folder picker
- โWarns you when a page is already bookmarked somewhere
- โAsks for one permission: access to your bookmarks
A bookmarks file
Every browser can export its bookmarks as a single HTML file, the old Netscape format they all still agree on. Drop that file in and review it the same way. Your original file is never modified; you download a cleaned copy at the end and re-import it.
- โNothing to install: works in Safari and every other browser
- โYour export file is left untouched
- โDownload a cleaned bookmarks file when you finish
- โGood for tidying a backup, or a second browser's bookmarks
Seven ways to review
The boring part is the problem, so we made it less boring
Same three decisions every time; only the presentation changes. Switch modes mid-session whenever your attention starts to drift; that is usually what stops people finishing.
Focus
One bookmark, centred, with nothing else competing for attention.
Roulette
Three reels spin and stop on three candidates. Pick one.
Float
Up to ten cards drift slowly across the screen.
Swipe
Drag right to keep, left to delete, up to move.
Cascade
Bookmarks fall down the screen at a speed you choose.
Blaster
An arcade lane where cards fly in from the right, five at a time.
Mosaic
Nine bookmarks in a tiled grid. Scan, then pick.

Nothing is irreversible by accident
Staged mode means you see every change before it happens
Deleting bookmarks is the kind of thing people are right to be nervous about. So the default is that nothing touches your browser until you say so.
๐ Staged
Every keep, delete and move goes into a queue. At the end of the session you get the full list, and you can drop anything you have second thoughts about before applying it. This is the safety net.
โก Live
Each decision is applied to your browser the instant you make it. Faster and more satisfying once you trust the flow, with no queue to review at the end. Switch between the two from the header at any time.

Your data
Your bookmark list says a lot about you
Which is why guest mode exists, and why it is the default. Here is the whole picture, plainly.
Guest mode uploads nothing
Your bookmarks stay in your browser's local storage. No account, no server copy. Close the tab and it is gone.
An account syncs, and only that
Sign in and your bookmark tree and session progress are stored so you can carry on from another device. That is what the account is for.
The extension asks for one thing
Access to your bookmarks. It does not read page content, browsing history, or anything on the sites you visit.
Delete your account whenever
One button in the account dialog removes the account and the bookmark data stored with it.
Ads on the free tier
Free and guest sessions show a single banner. Paid plans never do. Consent for personalised ads is handled by Google's certified consent platform where the law requires it.
Analytics you can decline
Product analytics are gated behind the cookie banner. Say no and none are collected.
The full detail is in the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Pricing
Free to try properly. Cheap to own outright.
Guest mode covers 10 bookmarks and a free account covers 50, which is enough to know whether the approach suits you. After that, two ways to lift the cap.

Questions
The things people ask first
Mostly about whether this is going to destroy their bookmarks. It is not, but here is exactly why.
Do I need to install anything?
No. You can export a bookmarks HTML file from your browser and upload it, and everything works. The extension is optional. It lets Bookmarks Pal read and edit your live bookmarks directly, so you skip the export and re-import step.
Does Bookmarks Pal delete my bookmarks immediately?
Only if you ask it to. Live mode applies each keep, delete and move to your browser the moment you make it. Staged mode queues every change and shows you the full list at the end of the session, so you can look before anything is applied. You pick the mode in the header and can switch at any time.
Are my bookmarks uploaded to your servers?
In guest mode, no. Everything stays in your browser's local storage and nothing is sent to us. If you create an account, your bookmark tree and session progress are synced so you can resume on another device. You can delete your account and its stored data at any time from the account dialog.
What happens when I reach the free limit?
Guests get 10 decisions and free accounts get 50 in total. When you reach the limit the app stops counting new actions and offers the paid plans; nothing you have already done is lost or reverted. The count is shared between the web app and the browser extension, so a save made from the toolbar draws on the same allowance.
Ready to see what is in there?
Start with the guest mode. No account, nothing uploaded, and you will know within a few minutes whether this is for you.
